2023 Ford Explorer in Midland
The 2023 Ford Explorer is the product of over three decades of evolution. Ford's formula moves the model forward with a muscular frame accented by wheel well cladding and blacked-out window moldings. The bumpers on the Ford SUV also get extra accents on select trim models for the new model year. If you're looking for a new SUV to travel around Midland City Forest Park, you can visit Midland Ford to discuss the Explorer models in our inventory.
Performance Capabilities
Each Explorer trim comes with a 10-speed automatic transmission that runs with one of two engine choices: a 300-horsepower, 2.3-liter engine or a 3.0-liter V6 engine rated at 300 horsepower and 415 pound-feet of torque. While rear-wheel drive is standard on the Explorer, it's possible to upgrade to all-wheel drive for your adventures near Saginaw Bay.
Interior and Exterior Design
The cabin of the new model comes with room for six or seven people. There's some flexibility among trim levels to accommodate people who prefer bench or second-row captain's chairs. Trims like the Limited feature micro-perforated inserts incorporated into the cabin's leather-trimmed seating. Heated and ventilated functions also come pre-built into most upper trims. Elegant features, like genuine leather seating with tri-diamond perforated inserts and a twin-panel moonroof, are standard on the fully loaded Platinum trim.
Ford's Explorer received a revamp on its exterior, too. New automatic LED low-high beams work with the LED headlamps, taillamps, and fog lamps. The model's sportiness gets a boost from a body-color rear spoiler and available satin aluminum finish grille. There are even quad chrome exhaust tips to cap off the Explorer's look with some real polish. Drivers will feel impressed by what they see from the new Ford Explorer.
Technology Amenities
A large 10.1-inch touchscreen display is available for the 2023 Ford Explorer. This generous offering should win favor with Michigan drivers. The ability to see camera views on a larger screen leads to better awareness of blind spots and hidden exterior areas of the vehicle. To accommodate mobile devices more conveniently, Ford gives even the second row a generous number of USB ports. For those who want to ditch wires altogether, the model's wireless device charging is an excellent feature to consider when buying a new vehicle to drive around Bay City.
Safety Features
Local drivers need all the help they can get out there on hectic interstates and city streets. Ford gives them an excellent arrangement of driver-assist features this year. The Explorer's forward collision mitigation gives the driver an audible alert whenever there's danger of a front-end collision. Automatic emergency braking collaborates with this feature to actively brake the Explorer if a driver fails to act on the audible alert. Features like BLIS (Blind Spot Information System) are there to inform the driver of possible objects or other vehicles in a blind spot. The areas to the left or right of the bumpers are difficult to see for most drivers and can be especially dangerous during lane changes at 60 MPH. Thanks to BLIS and lane departure mitigation, Explorer drivers have a loud warning if they're about to drive into traffic on the left or right. Active braking can take over and prevent collisions, too.
Trim Levels
A 2023 Ford Explorer is available in one of eight trim levels, beginning with the base model Explorer SUV. From there, there's the XLT, ST-Line, Timberline, Limited, ST, King Ranch, and Platinum to compare. The Ford lineup offers a nice blend of models with chrome or blacked-out grilles. Each of these trims will be available at our dealership near Freeland.
Midland Ford features the 2023 Ford Explorer in our lineup, and we invite you to visit us for a first look at the latest Explorer models. Our helpful test drives and quick responses to questions make shopping a delight.
